3rd Liverpool Universities Pub Quiz
On Thursday 20th October 2011 the third
Liverpool Universities Pub Quiz took place in the Engine Room at the Haigh.
At the start of the night the score stood at 1-1 with each University having experienced the taste of victory.
Again the night was well attended with plenty of teams representing both Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool.
Participants took the opportunity to enjoy some pub grub and drinks during the evening. After rounds on sport, music, general knowledge and a couple of picture rounds, it was time to reveal the winners....
The University of Liverpool came top with ‘Oliver Letts-win’ scoring 57 points and taking home vouchers for a wine tasting at Vinea Liverpool wine bar and shop. LJMU came second with ‘The Kluggers’ winning tickets to a concert at the Liverpool Guild of Students.
An additional prize of tickets on The Yellow Duckmarine was
available for the team that could guess the nearest answer to the question "Recognised
by Guinness World Records, what is the longest journey by a tractor to the
nearest 100 miles?" An LJMU team came nearest to the 13,172 mile record and they were awarded the
tickets.
This leaves LJMU 2-1 down in the series to the University of Liverpool.
The next Liverpool Universities Pub Quiz will be hosted back at the Haigh on Thursday 12th April 2012.
