Trading with Integrity
As one of the largest employers in the Greater Merseyside region, Liverpool John Moores University is also a major purchaser of goods and services. In addition, it engages in a range of academic partnerships in the UK and overseas.
Central to the University’s work in these areas is the continual development of approaches to ethical trading, in particular:
- The purchase of Fairtrade goods where possible and appropriate
- Support for the local and UK economy through purchasing at the regional and national levels where possible
- Careful selection of overseas partners that match our values and ethical principles
- Balancing always the benefits of developing educational opportunities for the citizens of the world with a careful consideration of the political, ethical and human rights records of the governments of those countries in which we operate or recruit students.
