Career history and current interests

My first qualified job was as an accountant, after which I studied full-time to gain my BSc and subsequently my Masters degree. After completing my Masters degree I started my PhD at Liverpool John Moores University.

Professional and Research Interests

I am primarily interested in children’s physical activity and health, and in particular, physical activity measurement and the influence of psychosocial variables on children’s physical activity levels. Recent project work has involved establishing the impact of a formative population-specific intervention entitled CHANGE! (Children’s Health, Activity and Nutrition: Get Educated!) on primary school children’s physical activity, physical self-perceptions, and health. Previous projects have involved converting traditionally sedentary time into more physically active pursuits, with the premise to increase physical activity in adolescents.
