The School of Engineering, Technology and Maritime Operations is one of the most research active academic departments in the University and has established an excellent record of high quality research and knowledge transfer. The School is home to internationally recognised research groups including the Electrical Electronic Engineering Research Centre led by Prof J Zhang, and Prof E. Levi, and the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute led by Prof J. Wang. The Institute also supports research groups in materials and structural engineering led by Prof J Ren and Prof I Jones, and control led by Prof D. Yu. All research groups have collaborations with leading international universities and industrial organisations.
