"The tutors and lecturers here have been really supportive, I feel that they are doing a really good job, and as a result of this I am really enjoying my course."
I chose Liverpool John Moores University because of its reputation and location The cost of living is low and there are excellent travel links from Liverpool to close by towns such as Southport.
The tutors and lecturers here have been really supportive, I feel that they are doing a really good job, and as a result of this I am really enjoying my course. There are lots of opportunities for group study which I enjoy a lot as you can learn from your fellow students, but also make friends with people from all over the world.
I really feel at home here. All the tutors and students are so friendly to one another, and the local people of Liverpool are really welcoming to International students. Liverpool is a really cool place to be a student; the city centre is always very busy and lively with a lot of excellent shops to look around.
I would highly recommend Liverpool John Moores University, its learning resources are very good and the tutors are supportive to all of my needs. It is also a really cool place to be a student and make friends from all over the world.

"Great teaching staff, wonderful facilities, and a brilliant city centre location."
The University provides students with everything they need, whether it’s libraries, sports or the social side of things. If I had to choose only three things I really like about Liverpool, I’d say: the nightlife, the friendly people, and just how cheap it is to live here, and if I had to choose only three things about LJMU they’d be great teaching staff, wonderful facilities, and a brilliant city centre location.
I have settled in well here and made lots of new friends. People here are friendly and helpful to people who are new to the city. I’ve managed my studies and social life pretty well. I hope to get a job here after graduation and settle down. I’m sure you’ll really like your time here too.
Darshana Godaliyadde, PhD in Marine and Offshore Engineering
"Coming to study here has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life and I would not think twice about recommending it to others."
I consider LJMU to be the premier university for my chosen field of specialty due to its reputation, geographical location, culture and marine activities. LJMU holds one of the highest rankings in the UK university system, particularly in the field of Marine Engineering because of its committed staff.
In addition to world-class teaching and practical sessions, 24-hour library access and e- learning facilities, LJMU maintains its own marine engineering work shop including a commercial scale shipping yard situated within the university premises for facilitating on-site practical sessions. I had the opportunity to visit the yard, to see how ships are repaired.
LJMU provides opportunities for us to attended weekly seminars regularly held by the Institute of Marine Engineers (IMarEST), Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and Lloyds Register (LR). It is a great opportunity to improve our knowledge base experience in different fields, to meet experts in a blend of specialty areas of subjects and explore job opportunities in the world marine arena.
I would definitely encourage anyone to study at LJMU. Coming to study here has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life and I would not think twice about recommending it to others.
