What were your first impressions of Liverpool?
When I arrived for my course interview I really liked the city, and the people were very friendly to me. I’d heard that it had recently been named European Capital city of Culture, and it seemed like a really exciting place to be.
How is your course progressing?
We had a very long induction, which was useful to students who maybe had not studied sports courses before. I have a lot of practical sessions, seminars and lectures, which are all very interesting. The tutors are all very friendly and helpful, and anyone can book an appointment with them if we are having any problems with the course. I particularly enjoy the practical seminars where we learn swimming, athletics, football, and basketball. The facilities we use are really good as well.
What’s it like to be a student at LJMU and live in Liverpool?
Being a student here is absolutely amazing. The city centre has a big student population so it feels like a community. The facilities and staff are brilliant. When I’m not studying, the week nights out are very enjoyable. Club nights such as Carnage, Medication, and Garlands are a great way to make friends.
