Liverpool Sound City – discount for LJMU students Liverpool Sound City (LSC) is a National and International music business conference and festival. Now in its fourth year it is aiming to be the SXSW of Europe. With 23 countries represented and the inclusion of some of the best young unsigned bands and signed artists LSC is the place to be for anyone who is or wants to work in the diverse world of popular music. For any young person who is starting out on this journey LSC should be an important date in their diary for 2011. Whether you are a musician, a technology genius, a fashion designer, graphic designer, business entrepreneur, or new manager, LSC is the place to be 19th-21st May 2011. LJMU students wishing to attend LSC can, until 12th December, benefit from a hugely discounted rate of £65 for a full three day delegate pass. This compares to £150 for a full delegate rate. A delegate pass entitles you to attend live gigs, networking events, drinks receptions, record label events, films, exhibitions, one-to-one advice sessions, delegate conference and the ‘Create’ conference (music education and young artist specific) and our specific digital conference; in short everything.
To secure your pass at this rate you should purchase a delegate pass online at the festival website and insert the promo code (STDT011) in the relevant box. You will need to supply your student card when you pick up your pass at the Hilton as proof of eligibility for this offer. To get the feeling of the festival please look at the Liverpool Sound City website www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk and click on the brief film of Sound City 2010. It gives a flavour of what we are about. For more details about LSC, please contact Tim Dalton, senior lecturer, Popular Music Studies: T.Dalton@ljmu.ac.uk
We look forward to seeing you at the best gig in town for 2011, Liverpool Sound City!!
