This is an MCA approved course which meets the mandatory requirements for Seafarers who are designated to take charge of Medical Care on board ship or for those who are seeking to gain Certificates of Competency.  This intensive course is very practical covering advanced life support, diagnostic techniques, disease management and efficient patient management and radio advice.

Duration:  5 days

Standard:  STCW95 A-VI/4; IMO 1.15

Entry requirements:

  • Candidates must have received approved or recognised training in Medical First Aid on Board Ship and been issued with an STCW certificate 

Issue of certificate:  Delegates are examined by means of an Open Book written paper at the end of the Course and are assessed throughout in their practical skills
