Yacht Crew Training
Yacht Crew Training
Deck and Engineer Officers serving in UK registered private or commercial yachts and sail training must be qualified in accordance with the MCA Code of Practice for Safety of Large Commercial sailing and Motor Vessels.
Lairdside Maritime Centre has been providing Deck Officer training to the Superyacht industry since 2001. John Percival Marine Associates (JPMA) brought the original idea to us and we now run simulator courses in conjunction with them. There is no doubt that our coures are challenging. However, a well-prepared student will do well and will leave the Centre with a good understanding of the duties and responsibilities of an OOW, CM or Master. We firmly believe that the most effective training can only be provided on an approved full mission simulator.
