Body Lab is an opportunity to find out how real-time physiological data can be used to influence the user experience. This kind of data is already being used in developing innovative new interfaces. Applications are as diverse as a mobile phone application that gathers heart rate data to improve your health, a game that uses EEG to control gameplay and body hacking.
This day long, hands on workshop will feature a briefing on physiological computing, demonstration of systems that utilise body data and an opportunity to work collaboratively to make more compelling experiences.
Participation in this workshop will be of particular value to companies interested in mobile, gaming and health futures.
You can hear more about the workshops' subject matter in this podcast of an interview with LJMU researchers Dr.Stephen Fairclough and Kiel Gilleade (access the transcript of the interview here). Read more about their research on their blog.
This event will take place on February 29, 2012 in Open Labs' collaboration space.
