Shankly Show anniversary offer
08 December 2009
Following its sell-out success at The Olympia and Royal Court theatres in 2008, the epic show about the life of Liverpool Football Club’s most famous manager is back by popular demand.
With 45 minutes each way, 'The Shankly Show', written and directed by LJMU's Andrew Sherlock, combines an intimate theatrical performance with big screen action featuring original footage, photos and graphics displayed on huge video screens.
In honour of the Special Citizen's Award to be given to Bill Shankly by the City of Liverpool, 'The Shankly Show' will be shown at two special performances in the auditorium of the BT Convention Centre on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 December 2009 at 8pm.
In addition, for his 50th Anniversary and for Bill Shankly's passionate belief in school and college football, education and the development of young people, 'The Shankly Show' is offering a £10 discount off all tickets for students and staff in education.
Writer and Director, Andrew Sherlock, a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Dramatist at LJMU, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about one of Liverpool's greatest role models and iconic heros, a motivator, an educator and champion not just of Liverpool football club, but the City, its people, fair play and sportsmanship. We are proud to make this special offer to everyone involved in education."
