Hillsborough Trust Fund

04 February 2010

Applications are now being taken on the Hillsborough Trust Fund. This fund is intended to assist full and part time students who consider themselves to be disadvantaged in their studies.

The definition of disadvantaged is left up to applicant to demonstrate and evidence, if possible.  Examples of categories that may be eligible could include: students with a disability, single parent students, student who has come through the care system to enter higher education or someone who is not entitled to funding due to previous study.  These examples are not prescriptive and are for information purposes only.

In addition to this there are other more general criteria as stated below:

  • Students must have been resident within the Merseyside boundaries for a minimum of 2 years prior to applying to the fund.
  • Only one application per student will be allowed for each academic year.
  • The maximum amount that will be given to any one student in any given academic year will, normally, be £250.

Please be advised that the deadline for applications is Friday 26 February 2010.
