Get your WoW Certificate
12 February 2010
The Graduate Development Centre (GDC) has just launched a new WoW advertising campaign, promoting LJMU’s unique WoW Certificate.
Posters and flyers have gone out around the University, and digital screens in each Faculty are running the campaign, to ensure all students are aware of this unique opportunity to enhance their employability.
Not signed up for WoW yet? Over 2200 students have already signed up for the WoW process so don’t get left behind.
Why is it a 'no brainer'? Employers are repeatedly telling the GDC that a degree is not enough in the current, highly competitive graduate recruitment market; they want to see evidence of students going the extra mile. The WoW certificate, which is backed by leading employers such as Barclays, the Co-operative Group, the NHS, Balfour Beatty and Shell, will demonstrate you have the skills employers are looking for.
Liza Watson, Managing Director of Liverpool-based law firm Heaney Watson Solicitors, commented: “Everybody who’s been to university will come out with more or less the same qualifications, but that’s not going to tell us how somebody’s going to perform when they are in the workplace. The WoW programme will show the world out there that they understand the way that businesses work so it follows naturally that we’ll back the World of Work certificate as something that is absolutely essential for candidates.”
