The Big Swap and time for tea!

FairtTrade Fortnight logoAs in past years, LJMU and LSU are actively supporting Fairtrade Fortnight which begins on Monday 22 February.  The theme this year is the Big Swap, in particular to encourage a change to Fairtrade tea.

The Chaplaincy will be in the Haigh Building on Monday from 11am - 2pm to discuss the importance of Fair Trade and to hand out samples of tea and coffee.  LSU will be using their theme evenings to promote Fairtrade.  LJMU's catering outlets will be offering a choice of Fairtrade products.  Bob Doherty, lecturer in the Business School, has arranged guest sessions for students in the Business School on Thursday 25 February and Thursday 4 March.

Bob is also co-ordinating the major event in Liverpool, the Strictly Fairtrade Tea Dance.  This is taking place on Saturday 27 February from 12pm - 3pm at Paradise Place in Liverpool One.  If you are in a dance team or group and want to demonstrate your skills, it's not too late to get in touch with Bob about being part of this event by emailing: r.doherty@ljmu.ac.uk
