Chief Executive of UK India Business Council visits LJMU

Richard Heald, Chief Executive of the UK India Council, accompanied by Rebecca Weinrich, Economic Development (NWDA) recently visited Dr Farath Arshad, Head of LJMU's Centre for Health and Social Care Informatics (CHaSCI) and Professor David Burton from LJMU's General Engineering Research Institute (GERI). The visit formed part of a scoping exercise to understand innovation within the North West and to explore areas that would benefit from collaboration with partners from India.

Dr Arshad and Professor Burton outlined a variety of innovation projects in which LJMU is currently involved, specifically innovations for the health sector capitalising on informatics and engineering technologies.

LJMU’s work will be summarised in the report ‘Making India an integral part of SME business strategy’. Dr Arshad and Professor Burton will be invited to participate in future events organised by the Council, including the UKIBC Summit at Bridgwater Hall, Manchester as well as meeting business leaders for specific projects.
