LJMU students in Japan
22 March 2011
Due to the unprecedented serious situation in Japan and critical advice from the Foreign Office, the University has advised all students currently on placement in Japan that we believe it would be safer for them to return to the UK as soon as possible. The University also advises students who had been due to fly out for the next semester with Japanese host institutions to remain in the UK.
If students choose to remain in Japan, or to travel to Japan for their placement, they do so at their own risk and in the full knowledge of the University's official and formal position.
All students can be assured that these arrangements will not be to the detriment of academic progression.
The Foreign Office has chartered additional flights from Tokyo to Hong Kong to ensure that UK nationals are able to leave Japan. Staff in the Business School remain available to offer support and advice, whatever your decision.
