Student Information System: key dates UPDATED

Key dates and activities before the August go live

  Here is a summary of key dates and activities relating to the next phase of the Student Information System going live in August.

 27 May

Online Module Selection ends
Extended final deadline for returning students to choose their option modules using OMS

 May - June

Final checks to ensure the Student Information System is the ‘source of truth’ for all things related to LJMU’s academic programmes

 31 May

SIS training environment available
An opportunity for staff to start using SIS, before it goes live in August. You will be able to check migrated records, see Student Self Service and check that the new system does what it’s supposed to do using real student data in a safe test environment

 Late May to 13 June

Results letters issued to returning UG and PG students
This mailout will include a flyer highlighting how students will use Student Self Service on SIS to re-register for the 2011/2012 academic year

 20 - 30 June

SIS pre-production build and final data migration test before cutover

 24 June

Academic Advisement deadline
Faculties to confirm that data within PRODCAT is correct for all programmes running in the 2011/2012 academic year (including referrals) before migration onto SIS

1 June to
8 July

Student records check
Final opportunity for staff to check and update student records on OSS prior to their migration to SIS during graduation week

 8 July

Cutover deadline for student records check
Final migration of student records from OSS onto SIS. Please note, if data does not meet the designated migration criteria, it will not be migrated across onto the new system.

OSS will be unavailable from close of business on 8 July until 11 July.

  SIS and PRODCAT will be unavailable from the close of business on 8 July until Monday 18 July.
  Scheduled Blackboard downtime for upgrade to version 9.1 from the close of business on 8 July until Monday 18 July.

9 July

OSS available for student administration related to 2010/2011 academic year

11 July

Students no longer able to update personal details on their student record using  Blackboard
  OSS available to staff.

11-15 July

Graduation week
Scheduled Blackboard downtime to enable upgrade to version 9.1

 18 July

Blackboard 9.1 available with all modules remapped to SIS course catalogue numbers
  SIS and PRODCAT available to users.

August

SIS goes live for student records, confirmation and clearing, enrolment and student finance

1 August onwards

Enrolment packs sent to undergraduate and PGCE applicants holding unconditional firm offers from the University
This pack will include details of how to use SIS to complete the pre-enrolment process

8 August

Enrolment starts for returning students
All returning UG and PG students will be sent an email to their LJMU email account giving them details of how to use SIS to re-register for the forthcoming academic year

18 August

Confirmation and Clearing

18 – 31 August

Enrolment packs sent to new students with details on how to register using Student Self Service

 Week commencing
12 September

All new marks and grades entered onto OSS will be migrated across to SIS.
Please note - this final migration only relates to marks and grades agreed after September PABs. No other student related data will be migrated at this stage.

 15 September

Goodbye OSS
Last report generated for HESA and OSS is closed down for transactions

24 September

Start of the new academic year
