LJMU lecturer honoured with not one, but two awards

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) presented Dr Charles Roberts from the School of Engineering, Technology and Maritime Operations with two awards at a Gala Dinner last week.

The first was in the Service to the Industry category where he was nominated by transport industry for his work at Liverpool John Moores University and the transport sector. The other award was a CILT(UK) Meritorious Award for his contribution to the Institute over 20 years.

Dr Roberts, a Chartered member of both the CILT and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers joined the University in 1989 after a career in transport. His research interests are road passenger and freight transport and the economics and management of the industry. Dr Roberts has made a significant contribution to the development of transport and logistics within the School and currently leads the Maritime Business, Transport and Logistics programmes within the School. He just led the validation the School’s new MBA in Maritime Management.
