Host families required for Spanish students
19 September 2008
On Thursday 18 September, LJMU officially opened its new International Study Centre.

The Centre - based at 8 Marybone Street - has been set up by LJMU in partnership with Study Group, a global specialist in university preparation. The opening marks an exciting new phase in LJMU's drive to bring more international students to Merseyside.
Study Group has worked closely with the University to develop a new International Foundation Year programme that will help prepare school leavers from around the world for degree study at LJMU. The first cohort of students have already been recruited, with new arrivals coming to Liverpool from China, Bangladesh, Korea, India, Libya, France, Greece and Vietnam.
Courses at the ISC will be delivered by Study Group experts who have extensive experience of supporting and teaching international students in the UK. LJMU will oversee activities at the Centre to ensure that they meet its rigorous quality standards and enable students to reach the required entry requirements for progression onto its degrees in areas such as management, computing, engineering, sciences, law, and social sciences.
