LJMU professor invited onto pharmaceutical committee for 2012 Olympics.

Emeritus Professor David Mottram from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences has been invited by the 2012 London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) to be a member of the Pharmacy Clinical Services Group.

Professor Mottram, author of Drugs in Sport, acknowledged as the leading text on the subject, fulfilled a similar role on the Pharmacy Services Committee for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

The Pharmacy Clinical Services Group for the London Games will have its first full meeting at the LOCOG headquarters in Canary Wharf on 2 April 2009. The remit for the Group will be to organise all pharmaceutical needs for the Games, both within the Olympic Village and elsewhere.
