Brokerage Team engineer partnership with Merseyrail.
LJMU’s Adam Papworth and Glynn Rothwell (School of Engineering), with Paul Spencer (Centre for Secondary and Vocational Education) visited the Merseyrail Maintenance Deport at Birkenhead to discuss work-related learning opportunities for LJMU students.
The meeting was facilitated by the GDC’s Brokerage Team and has been beneficial for all parties involved. Following discussions with Merseyrail’s Engineering Director Kevin Thomas, a former LJMU student, a range of opportunities have been offered including student visits and placements for both Engineering and PGCE initial teacher training post graduates and serving teachers.
