MP Jane Kennedy WoWed

Jane Kennedy MP will visited LJMU to see how the institution is helping its graduates stand out in an increasingly competitive job market.

As the economic downturn leads to fewer jobs, LJMU’s globally unique workplace skills programme – WoW (World of Work) – becomes even more valuable. Backed by international companies such as Sony and Shell, the innovative scheme means students graduate with an extra qualification, in addition to their degree.

With most of LJMU’s students coming from Merseyside, the programme is welcomed by Jane Kennedy, Labour MP for Wavertree.

During her visit, Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Brown demonstrated how students are taught essential workplace skills, which have been identified by local, national and international businesses.
