Police to support research projects

The Graduate Development Centre is pleased to announce that Merseyside Police will support 12 dissertation students around Youth Crime.
Inspector Mark Lawes, Head of Merseyside Knife Crime Project, has offered to support 12 dissertation research projects (undergraduate or postgraduate) in the area of Youth Knife Crime. The projects may cover any perspective of knife crime (a full brief will be given).
If you wish to be considered for the project a 200 word abstract should be submitted to Brokerage@ljmu.ac.uk by 24 June 2009.
Inspector Lawes will be giving a ‘WoW® in Conversation’ Guest Lecture on June 9 at 2pm in the GDC, which will provide an insight into the subject of ‘Serious Youth Crime on Merseyside’. This lecture is open to all staff and students.
Inspector Lawes will introduce the research projects more fully during the lecture, and will speak to students interested in taking part afterwards. If you wish to attend please book via: http://www.ljmu.ac.uk/WoW/students/events/index.htm
