Malaysian Summer School 09
03 June 2009
LJMU’s collaborative links with Malaysia began in 2002 with the launch of the hugely successful Summer Semester Programme, which over the last 7 years has gone from strength to strength.
The 14-week programme enables students from TAR College, Institut Megatech and TMC, Singapore, to complete a UK Bachelors degree at LJMU.
This year’s cohort arrived over the weekend and on Monday the students Induction Programme, organised by Maureen Evans, took place at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.
At the induction students were welcomed to LJMU and introduced to life in Liverpool. They were also given presentations from University staff on topics such as accommodation, student welfare, the Alumni Association and LSU social events. PC Keith Winstanley from Merseyside Police was also on hand to talk about personal safety and the city of Liverpool.
After the presentations the students were fully integrated into the city after enjoying their first taste of scouse.
