Workshops for new HE teaching staff and a CPD directory will be made available via Blackboard in September.
2009-10 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Directory
The 8th directory, outlining staff development opportunities available to staff at LJMU and partner colleges who teach and support learning, will be available from 1 September 2009 in Blackboard.
All LJMU staff (and staff from partner colleges with an LJMU username and password) can access the directory through the ‘My LJMU’ page.
As in previous years, the directory collates information about events running across LJMU – including those run by the Learning Development Unit, Centre for Staff Development, Faculty of Science, Collaborative Partnerships etc. as well as detailed information about the range of accredited programmes available at LJMU.
This year’s Directory also includes:
- CPD opportunities categorised by ‘theme’
- Instructions on accessing the CPD calendar which you can use to plan your professional development
- A comprehensive listing of the range of CPD available from external providers

3is series: Information, Ideas and Insights
The 3is are a series of half-day workshops that focus on key subjects / issues that face staff who are new to teaching in HE including those in roles where supporting learning is a small part of their work.
The workshops will provide staff with the opportunity to discuss their experiences, share ideas and gain some information about a range of techniques and processes that may help them in their teaching.
