The Occupational Health Unit does not provide emergency medical care, primary care services or minor injury service. Valuable time could be lost by sending sick and/or injured individuals to this Unit. If urgent medical advice is needed during work, advice should be sought from the departmental First Aider. NHS advice and treatment is available from:
NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/
Liverpool City Walk in Centre
53 Great Charlotte Street, Liverpool L1 1HU
Telephone: 0151 285 3535
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 22:00 hours
The Royal Liverpool Hospital A&E department is very busy and the waiting time for minor injuries may be much longer than at the NHS Walk in Centres. If the condition appears too serious to be handled locally, an emergency ambulance should be called to ensure rapid access to University premises.
This service is free and confidential. One-to-one counselling to students and staff is available on a self-referral basis. The main base and reception is located on the mezzanine level of Kingsway House, 24 Hatton Garden. The Counselling Service telephone number is (0151)231 3153 and the e-mail adress is email@example.com
