Research Induction Events - 2012/13
The University's Research Support Office has introduced a series of informal induction events for new and existing research-active staff. The events will take place in various locations across the University campus on Wednesday lunchtimes.
All academic staff, research assistants and postgraduate research students are invited to attend, especially those who have recently joined the University.
The aim of the event is twofold – to provide an opportunity for new and existing research staff to meet and also to provide a broad overview of the professional services which the University provides to support research activity (e.g., from the research support office, the finance office and the library).
The induction will cover aspects such as: Who's Who, University Research Strategy, REF2014, Research Policies and Procedures, Research Ethics, Grant Funding and Support, MPhil and PhD students, Training and Development and Library Resources. (these topics were identified by a recent stakeholder workshop of staff and postgrads as those that researchers would like to know more about when joining LJMU)
