Opening Hours Policy

LRC opening hours are agreed in order to provide you with the best possible access to the buildings and services within available budgets.

Full service hours

The LRCs are at their busiest from 08.45 to 21.00 when we have our maximum number of staff available.

Self-service hours

We use Custodial staffing late in the evenings (self service hours) and overnight to ensure that the buildings are tidy and safe and that you have access to services and facilities.  Please be aware that Custodial staff are not able to offer specialist advice or support.

Overnight access

Overnight access is provided at the Avril Robarts and Aldham Robarts LRCs during semester time. The main purpose of this service is to provide access to PCs and wireless network. For details of the number of PCs available during the night and the floors that they are available on please see Accessing our computing facilities.

Aldham and Avril Robarts Ground Floors are open 24 hours in semester time. We are required to have a staff presence on each floor during the overnight hours.  Funding has therefore been provided to open the upper floors of the Aldham Robarts until 02.30am in semester time.

Vacation hours

During the University vacation periods opening hours are reduced. Evening opening is maintained over the vacation periods but overnight access is not available.
