LJMU Mobile App
Free app that lets you keep up to date with LJMU on the move
Downloading the app is free and easy.
For iPhones it is freely available on the Apple Apps Store (find it by searching for LJMU)
For all other compatible phones, enter the URL http://www.ljmu.ac.uk/ljmuapp in the browser.
When you install the LJMU mobile app you will be required to provide your name, we recommend your university email address in its full form for example, a.b.smith@ljmu.ac.uk rather than mkgasmit and a password. The first time that you use a personalised feature, such as library record, you will be asked for your LJMU username and password.
Once you have installed the app, you will have a wealth of information at your fingertips. To get an idea of the features available on the app, have a look at our short video demo at the top of this page.
As with many apps, each time we update the information you will receive a download prompt - select this and it should only take a few seconds for you to have current info at your fingertips.

Library
You can view your library record whilst you are on the go, see how many books you have borrowed and check your library account. (Each time you change your University password you may see 'unexpected system exception' when you attempt to access your library account. You need to go into the “Directory” function, which prompts for your University username and new password, and then run the “Library” function - this will rercognise your new password).

You can subscribe to a number of news feeds that keep you informed about things going on in and around the University.
Friend Locator
You can see where your friends are and contact them to meet up. This is by mutual consent and you must both choose to share your location with each other. You both need to have the Friend Locator part of the app open on your mobile device for it to work. Getting started....
• Go to ‘My Sharing Options’ in the Friend Locator menu
• Set ‘Share my Location with to ‘Friends’ or ‘All’
• Go to ‘Invite Friends’ in the Friend Locator menu
• Search for a friend and tap the + symbol to add them to your list.
If your friend has not chosen to share their location information then they will not appear in the list.
Alerts
From time to time you will receive useful information and announcements related to study and student life at LJMU. You need to open an alert message before you can delete it from your device.
