Partner College Staff
Resources for Partner College Staff
These pages aim to guide Partner College staff through the Library and Student Support that LJMU can offer.
LJMU is committed to widening opportunities for the transfer of students from Further Education (FE) colleges to degree programmes at LJMU by the establishment of clear progression routes and access level agreements. This commitment comes out of a recognition of the move across FE and Higher Education (HE) sectors towards strategic partnerships between institutions and also the creation of regional consortia. It also recognises the Government drive towards greater regionalisation with the introduction of, for example, Regional Development agencies and increased regional HEFCE funding for the introduction of Foundation Degrees.
Library and Student Support (L&SS) is aware that effective support from Library and Student Support (L&SS) is critical to the success of the University’s partnership network. As a result our L&SS Supporting Strategy, Strategic Statement 2003-2008 includes the following aims:
-
To rationalize rights and privileges to L&SS support services for staff and students either delivering or studying HE programmes leading to a LJMU award at partner college institutions.
-
To further develop collaboration with publicly funded LIS providers in the North West region.
-
To raise student awareness and understanding of the benefits of collaborative access to learning materials and to raise awareness amongst researchers of the resources available through collaborative networks.
These pages aim to provide up-to-date information on the services we provide and to be the best source of contact information for both Subject Support Staff and College Librarians.
Academic Partnerships
The Academic Partnerships team deals with partnership administration and management. Also available are the Link Tutor Guide and a list of our partner organisations. Please note, you will need your LJMU username and password to access this list.
