Pre-Arrival, Arrival and Induction Information

Arrival

Once you arrive at Manchester airport you will be met by members of the academic team and some student helpers who will be past Summer Semester students. You will be guided onto coaches for your journey to the halls of residence in Liverpool. The student helpers will give you lots of useful information and tips on life at LJMU and Liverpool. Remember - they have been through the same experience that you are about to undertake and will have some good tips to pass on to you. If you have any questions or problems please speak to the student helpers, they will advise you if they are able or will direct you to the member of staff most able to help you.

Upon arrival at the halls both LJMU staff and staff from the accommodation providers will be there to check you into your rooms and deal with any problems/queries you may have. You will receive a welcome pack which will contain lots of valuable information that will help you during your time with us.

The weekend of your arrival will be a time for you to get used to your new accommodation and surroundings and to settle in ready to start your course. You will probably feel very tired and excited too so make sure you get plenty of rest!

Arrival Details for Summer Semester Programme 2013 & Arrival Information Form

Please complete the details on the attached form (click here to download form) as soon as you have finalised your flight details and email to Maureen Evans at m.evans@ljmu.ac.uk. Arrival Information: Forms must be received by 6th May 2013 at the latest to ensure airport collection.

LJMU will then be able to make necessary arrangement for your collection at Manchester airport to your accommodation. This service is only available during the LJMU arrival weekend from Friday 24th May to Sunday 27th May 2013 only. If you are planning to arrive at any other UK airport, or outside these dates, you will need to make the necessary arrangements yourself to get to Liverpool. We still need your flight details however so we can prepare for your arrival at your accommodation. Please complete the form above and email to Maureen Evans at m.evans@ljmu.ac.uk

NB. You can only take up occupancy of your accommodation from Friday 24th May 2013 onwards. Your departure date from your accommodation will be by 10.00am on Friday 6th September 2013. Please bear this in mind when booking your flights.

LJMU Induction

Details of the LJMU Induction event will be advised shortly. All Summer Semester students are required to attend. Full details of the event will be included in your welcome pack which you will recieve upon arrival at the accommodation.

During the LJMU induction event you will:

- Be formally welcomed to LJMU
- Receive useful information on LJMU life, your accommodation and life in Liverpool
- Meet academic and support staff
- Join the LJMU team forHave lunch

Programme Induction

Details of the programme induction will be advised shortly.You will go to your individual faculty for this (information will be in your welcome pack).

During the induction you will:

- Be formally welcomed to your programme
- Receive a programme induction with information pack
- Meet academic and support staff
- Enrol on your course
- Receive a Learning Resource Centre /Computing facilities induction

SPECIAL NOTE
You will also need your passport for identification purposes.
You should also take along a notebook and pen and a carrier bag as you will receive lots of information.
Don’t forget to take your LJMU map too!
Once your induction sessions have taken place you are ready to start your programme - we wish you lots of luck with your studies and hope you enjoy the LJMU experience.
