EMail Forwarding
Policy
Automatic forwarding from the LJMU Email Service to any other Email Service will not be undertaken for any staff or student member of the University, except where there is a compelling operational need.
Rationale
The LJMU Email system is a corporate service for all staff and students of the University.
In addition to standard email services this system also provides added value messaging services including:
- Shared folders
- Directory services
- Calendar, diary and scheduling services
- Workflow services
The University will be developing applications, for both staff and students, which utilise and build upon these messaging services. The deployment of applications based upon these services requires that all potential users utilise the University's mail systems. This will not be the case if arbitrary forwarding of messages to other mail hosts is permitted.
